Disobedient Hearts

Emily Sullivan enlisted in the Navy to escape a traumatic past, but you can never outrun the lasting impacts. Jake Holland is a Navy SEAL officer that has a habit of falling too quickly and too intensely. When he and Emily meet, in civilian clothes, during a night out they have a weird draw. They spend the next month trying to meet in the middle which Emily working to overcome her aversion to physical proximity and Jake trying to learn her boundaries and respect them. Once the discover their respective military status, and that it violates the Navy's fraternization policy it's already to late. They spend the next seven years building a life together, including a cane corso puppy named Bacon, that can't exist on paper or in public.
